REUS Workshop — Research in Economics using Sports Data

The Central European University and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy are inviting submissions for the first “Research in Economics Using Sports Data” Workshop. It is organized by Gábor Békés (Central European University, KRTK and CEPR) and Julian Hinz (Bielefeld University and Kiel Institute) and will take place at CEU in Vienna, Austria.

The workshop aims to bring together leading researchers from various fields of economics who use sports data to discuss their research and to encourage broader interactions. Topics include (but not restricted to):

  • questions in labor economics
  • behaviour, biases, preferences
  • development, political preferences and political economy
  • organizations, management, globalization
  • econometrics and methodology with application

The workshop is generously supported and hosted by the Central European University and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.

PhD and Postdoc scholar are encouraged to apply. A travel and accommodation grant will be awarded to two junior researchers.

Submissions until midnight, 19 May 2023, via E-Mail: submissions@reus-workshop.org. Submissions of full papers (including draft versions) are preferred. Invited speakers will be notified by 16 June 2023.
